MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Sour-graping is defined as exhibiting a negative attitude to something because they cannot have it themselves.
Philippine President Bongbong Marcos was being presidential when he extended an invitation to ex-Vice President Leni Robredo to attend his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) next week.
But Marcos’ courtesy was met with sour-graping by the one whom he defeated by a landslide in the 2022 presidential elections. Robredo declined the invitation.
“Thanks, but no thanks,” she seemed to say.
Or was it just “No” (without the thanks)?
Some people are gracious in defeat. Others are just defeated.

A statement from ALV Pageant Circle and Miss Grand Philippines says that there is yet no assurance that Budol will represent the Philippines in the Miss Tourism World Pageant in London.
International pageants seem to be Budol’s achilles heel. Many will recall that the comedienne turned beauty queen withdrew from last year’s Miss Planet International pageant after experiencing “uncertainties” from the pageant organizers.
QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – President Bongbong Marcos will deliver the second State of the Nation (SONA) of his term on July 24, 2023.
His address would certainly be among breaking news next week.
