Philippine Vice President Robredo Wants To Meet With U.S. State Department Official Mina Chang

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Despite being scolded by Rodrigo Duterte on national TV last night, Vice President Leni Robredo says she wants to meet with just-resigned U.S. State Department official Mina Chang.

(Duterte took Robredo to task for using her Drug Czar designation to meet with foreign agencies and officials,  The Vice President was earlier chided for possibly sharing state secrets with foreigners.)

Chang resigned her post amid allegations that she inflated her resume.  She was even accused of spreading photos of her on the cover of Time magazine.

A spokesperson for the Office of the Vice President (OVP) told The Adobo Chronicles that Robredo feels that Chang can empathize with her since both of them are being accused of fakery.  Many Opposition critics have called Robredo “fake VP.”

”Besides, I think it would be good to seek the advice of a fellow woman lke Chang,” Robredo said.

‘Botched’ Next U.S. Ambassador To The Philippines Quits Amid Allegations Of Fake Resume

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – She made headlines in the local news media as the next U.S. Ambassador the the Philippines, something that the U.S. Embassy has denied.  But true or not, this ends all  speculation about Mina Chang who just resigned her post at the U.S. State Department.

Chang was accused of padding her resume and even faking a Time Magazine cover with her photo in it.  She has denied the allegations.

In a Skype interview with The Adobo Chronicles, Chang also categorically denied that she obtained her fake credentials from Metro Manila’s Recto Avenue, infamous for producing fake documents — from passports to birth certificates to college diplomas.

”I’ve never even been to Recto, nor knew I could actually buy fake documents for a cheap price,” she said.

Well, she’ll never ever be in the U.S. Embassy in Manila — at least not as Ambassador.

Duterte Appoints PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino Co-Drug Czar

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Sick and tired of Leni Robredo’s illusion that she is the most powerful official in the country’s war on drugs, President Rodrigo Duterte put a damper on the Vice President’s Drug Czar fantasy.

Since being appointed Co-chair of the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-illegal Drugs (ICAD), Robredo has been acting — and talking — like she is the boss, lording it over the many agencies that are part of the committee, including the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In an unprecedented move, Duterte just appointed PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino as “Co-Drug Czar.” Aquino is the other Co-chair of ICAD.

”I don’t know what Ma’am Robredo doesn’t understand about the term, ‘Co-chair,’ “ Duterte said.  “It means she is not THE Drug Czar. She’s not the one and only boss,” the President told The Adobo Chronicles

So it looks like from now on, Aquino will be the Drug Czar and Robredo the Drug Czarina.

All’s well that ends well.
