OVP Admits: Books Displayed During Robredo’s FB Address Were Fake

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – It was hard not to miss those books that were displayed on Vice President Leni Robredo’s desk as she addressed the nation via her Facebook accounts.

Books by authors like Liberal Party stalwart Jovito Salonga and Francisco Magno, not to mention a hardbound copy of the Constitution of the Philippines.

But alas, for purposes of transparency, the Office of the Vice President has admitted that the “books” were fake and were there only for “props.”

The books were actually piggy bank books!

Netizens Accuse Leni Robredo Of Premature Presidential Campaigning

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo addressed the Filipino nation last night via her Facebook page, complete with a purple dress, eyeglasses, hair in a bun, and a set of recommendations focused on the government’s policies on combatting the coronavirus.

But netizens immediately accused Robredo of premature campaigning for the 2022 Philippine Presidential elections. (Existing rules by the Commission on Elections do not prohibit any form of early campaigning. The poll body previously explained that since the law only recognizes a person to be an official candidate once the campaign season kicks off, it created a window that allows politicians to have advertisements and TV show episodes ahead of the start of the campaign.)

But while Robredo denied that her address was aimed at promoting her possible candidacy for President in 2022, an Adobo Chronicles investigation proved otherwise.

So, what gave Robredo away?

One of the books her handlers displayed at the video-taped address was titled “Thinking Beyond Politics,” authored by Francisco Magno.

But wait, there’s more!  The full title of the book is “Thinking Beyond Politics: A Strategic Agenda For The Next President.”

Busted?

In Facebook Address To The Nation, Leni Robredo Lets Her Hair Down

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – In what many are saying as her attempt to mimic President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), Vice President Leni Robredo took to her Facebook account last night to address the Filipino people.

Wearing a pair of eyeglasses, donning a purple dress, her hair in a bun, and with hands clasped, Robredo firmly and emphatically laid out her solid and well-thought of points for the country to more effectively deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

To demonstrate that she was heartfelt and serious about her recommendations, she let her hair down towards the end of her address.  With that, she seemed to tell her viewers: “This is the real me, not the fake me.”
