Only One Filipino Satire Site Left Standing!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In the field of satire, there can only be one, not two standing. Such is the case in the Philippines.

Up until yesterday, there were two competing Filipino satires competing for Filipino netizen attention and following.

One of them, The Adobo Chronicles has, since its establishment in 2013 been dominating Facebook newsfeeds the world over, but especially in the Philippines. Alas, yesterday, Facebook, for some still unknown reasons, has unpublished the Chronicles’ FB page.

That leaves one and only one Filipino satire site in the country: Rappler!

Holy Week Crucifixion For the Leni-Kiko Campaign!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It may be the longest crucifixion ever recorded in the history of mankind.

In observance of the Holy Week, a Filipino Catholic parish crucified the campaign of Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan in an eerie foreshadowing of the death of the duo’s presidential and vice-presidential aspirations, respectively.

It is the longest crucifixion because death does not come until May 9, the day of the Philippine elections.

There is time for repentance (or withdrawal), and maybe, Robredo and Pangilinan could still be spared from the inevitable demise.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Whether it is the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University, or Publicus Asia, Rappler has been consistent in being on top of the surveys on news trustworthiness among Filipinos.

Now, a new analysis released by polling firm False Asia, the onlne news source whose CEO Maria Ressa is a convicted criminal, is again No. 1 on the trust spectrum, topping the list as the least-trusted news source.

CNN, GMA7 and the Philippine Daily Inquirer were the top three most trusted news source.

This analysis was based on actual numbers from the most recent Publicus Asia poll.
