Tourism Secretary Frasco Happiest Person At SONA!

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco was the happiest person in the Batasang Pambansa (National Legislature) plenary hall on Monday.

Fresh from her family leave and the flak she and the Department of Tourism received due to the controversial rebranding, logo and promo video, “Love The Philippines,” Frasco was all smiles during and after President Bongbong Marcos’ State of the Nation Address.

The reason? Marcos “endorsed” her branding and mentioned the slogan “(they) Love The Philippines.”

Unknown to Frasco, the President was not referring to the tourism slogan but to the love and dedication many workers in his administration have shown in the past year.

Ireland Shows Philippines The Way!

DUBLIN, Ireland (The Adobo Chronicles, Dublin Bureau) – The Philippines’ Department of Tourism has spent the last few weeks defending its P49 million re-branding of the country’s tourism campaign.

The slogan “Love The Philippines” was met with skepticism and criticism because of its unclear message and hard-to-decipher graphics, only to be exacerbated by a promo video that featured tourist destinations other than from the Philippines.

Today, Ireland sent Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco an autographed copy of its latest tourism poster — no logo, just a plain, simple and heartwarming message: “Fill your heart with Ireland.”

No reaction from Frasco as of press time.
