Headline War Erupts In The Philippines

IMG_7706.PNGMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau)- Forget about fake news. You should be more concerned about real, legitimate news.  Which begs the question, which “real” news  should you believe?

The beacon, the light, the bearer of truth, the watchdog of government — otherwise known as the news media — is in shambles in the Philippines.

If you’re not paying attention, you might think that you’re dealing with political parties, listening to or reading their ideological propaganda.

Where before it was a battle of bloggers, i.e., Mocha Uson vs. Raissa Robles, it is now a war between what we know as legitimate media.  They battle for your attention, and cater to your political leaning.  How? Through their headlines.

So fear not. Any news story — and we mean ANY news story — can be good news for you.  Just pick the headline you wish to believe.  You don’t have to read the full story.  What for? The headlines tell it all.

Duterte Names The Three People He Said He Personally Killed

img_6903DAVAO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Philippines President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has once again grabbed international news headlines after he was quoted saying that during his time as mayor of Davao City, he personally killed three people in connection with his war on drugs.

Of course, there is no evidence to his claim.  We just need to take his word for it, and that’s what the news media is doing.

Today, in an exclusive interview with The Adobo Chronicles, Duterte named the three people he killed: Dr. Jose Rizal, General Emilio Aguinaldo and Andres Bonifacio.

Heroes all!

Donald Trump Does Not Like Being Named TIME Person Of The Year

img_6857NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – If you criticize Donald Trump, he complains; if you honor him, he balks.

Today, the president-elect blasted TIME Magazine for naming him this year’s Person of the Year.

“Enough with political correctness, let’s call a spade a spade,” he said. “I’m a man and there is no question about it.  To call me “person” is to cast doubt on my manhood.  You only use “person” if you’re not sure whether someone is a man or a woman or something in between.”

Trump demanded that TIME  recall copies of the Person of the Year issue and to make the necessary correction, naming him “Man of the Year” instead.
