Kellyanne Conway, the new Secretary of the Department of Alternative Facts (DAF)
WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – President Donald Trump today signed a new Executive Order abolishing the White House Press Office and creating a new Department of Alternative Facts (DAF).
Senior Aide Kellyanne Conway was appointed head of the new Department with a Cabinet rank.
The Department will oversee all communications emanating from the White House and is empowered to screen and license all journalists wanting to cover the president and his Cabinet.
The Executive Order all but relegates the White House Press Corps into oblivion.
Conway will hold office at the former White House Press Briefing Room at the West Wing.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – While President Donald Trump announced that the White House Press Briefing Room will remain at its current location — The James S. Brady Room in the West Wing — he said he gets to pick which reporters and news outlets will occupy each of the 49 seats.
In past administrations, it is the White House Correspondents Association that assigns all of those spots and determines the seating arrangement.
Today, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer released the first 16 spots personally chosen by Trump. He hinted that CNN and SNL will definitely not be given seats.
