Facebook Demotes Fact Checkers Rappler and Vera Files!

MENLO PARK, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – Bad news for Facebook’s Philippine fact-checking partners Rappler and Vera Files. The social network giant has downgraded their status.

Today, FB CEO Mark Zuckerberg formally announced that it was demoting both Rappler and Vera Files to ”opinion checkers.”

The announcement came weeks after Facebook admitted in court documents that its fact-checking partners were actually just expressing their opinion when tagging accounts, posts and comments. That’s thanks to a lawsuit brought by celebrated journalist John Stossel, which has exposed the left’s supposed battle against  “misinformation” as a farce.

Facebook finally admitted the truth: The “fact checks” that social media use to police what Americans read and watch are just “opinion.”

That’s thanks to a lawsuit brought by celebrated journalist John Stossel, which has exposed the left’s supposed battle against  “misinformation” as a farce.

Social media analysts see the downgrade as a diminishing of the pseudo power of Rappler and Vera Files as Internet police and censor of the free speech of Filipino netizens.

Rappler Exploring Alternatives If Twitter Is Sold To Elon Musk!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Rappler, the least-trusted news brand in the Philippines whose CEO Maria Ressa is a convicted criminal, is not taking any chances in order to ”hold the line.”

Since the Internet is its sole platform in spreading its signature lies and propaganda, it is understandable that Rappler is very concerned over the news that Elon Musk is proposing to buy Twitter for $41 Billion., Rappler has no known ties with Twitter, but is one of the designated Facebook fact checkers in the Philippines. Nevertheless, in order to remain competitive on social media, Twitter needs to muster all avenues to keep its presence on people’s radars: TikTok, IG, Pinterest, Linked-In, among others.

Our sources tell us that Maria Ressa is exploring a tie-up with Grindr, the most famous dating site in the LGBT community to which she belongs. She’s also looking at signing up with other dating sites all the over the world including the U.S. and Europe.

Ressa also sent feelers to The Adobo Chronicles (whose Facebook page has been taken down this week) to buy the rights of the satirical site AdoboChronicles.com which has an impressive record of 27 million views, and counting.

Adobo Chronicles, however, outrightly rejected Rappler’s offer.
