Japan Declares Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes Persona Non Grata!

TOKYO, Japan (The Adobo Chronicles, Tokyo Bureau) – Chot Reyes will not be able to step into Japan again following the Japanese government’s declaration of the controversial Gilas Pilipinas coach ‘persona non grata.’

The declaration, effective immediately, came in the wake of Reyes’ statement hoping that Japan loses its next game in the ongoing FIBA World Cup in the Philippines.

Reyes made the statement as his way out of criticism lodged against him for his incompetence in coaching the Philippine basketball team. The Philippines has so far lost two our of two games it has played.

The declaration, signed by no less than Emperor Naruhito, cited Reyes for his lack of sportsmanship and for disrespecting Japan, considering that its team is competing fair and square in the host country.

As persona non grata, Reyes is not welcome to visit Japan — not even to coach the Philippine team if ever it plays in a tournament in that country.

The Japanese government said it was unbecoming for the Filipino coach to make such a statement especially in light of his country’s new tourism campaign of “Love the Philippines.”

Kakie Pangilinan Responds To Mom Shawee’s Long Socmed Letter!

ON BOARD PHILIPPINE AIRLINES (The Adobo Chronicles, Airborne Bureau) – Megastar Sharon Cuneta posted a very long personal emotional letter on her socmed account addressed to daughter Kakie Pangilinan who just left to study abroad.

Many wondered if Cuneta had intended to send the letter directly to her daughter via Private Message (PM). Nevertheless, the cat is out.

So, Kakie, with the help of AI, sent a short reply to her mom which we are publishing with AI’s permission:

Hey Mom,

I know your love for me is endless, but I’m all grown up now. I cherish our bond, yet it’s time to embrace the woman I’ve become. Your guidance matters, but let’s journey as friends.

Love, Kakie

Former Senator Kiko Pangilinan Sends Feelers To Malacañang!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Mover, Mar Roxas. Make way for former Senator Kiko Pangilinan!

There have been long-standing rumors that former DILG Secretary and defeated presidential candidate Mar Roxas was being considered to become President Bongbong Marcos’ Agriculture Secretary. But those rumors have all but dissipated.

Enter Pangilinan.

He has been sending feelers to Malacañang regarding his interest to head the Agriculture Department.

In one of such feelers, Pangilinan posted a selfie on his social media account wearing a t-shirt saying he is one with farmers and fisher folk. (The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources is under the D.A.)

Will the President or the First Lady entertain Pangilinan’s feelers?

(After all, Pangilinan’s wife Sharon Cuneta is the godchild of the late Ferdinand E. Marcos in her first wedding with actor Gabby Concepcion!)
