New Philippine Opposition Party To Launch On June 1!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In anticipation of the eventual acquittal of former Senator Leila de Lima in the last remaining criminal case filed against her, a group identified with the political opposition is set to launch a new party in preparation for the next Philippine presidential elections.

Distancing itself from the Liberal Party, the independent party under which Leni Robredo ran and lost, and the all-hype 1Sambayan, this new political party rallies behind former Senator Leila de Lima who, just today was acquitted in one of the two remaining criminal cases against her.

The new group is also considering fielding de Lima as its presidential candidate in 2028.

The new party will be called LDP: Leila DeLima Party.

Philippine Senator Risa Hontiveros Raises Wrong Issue With The Wrong China!

TAIPEI, Taiwan (The Adobo Chronicles, Taipei Bureau) – Philippine Senator Risa Hontiveros may have been confused, or simply ignorant when she recently met with Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen.

The opposition senator took pride in bringing up with Ing-wen the issue on the West Philippine Sea in which the Philippines is involved in a territorial dispute with the People’s Republic of China.

Hontiveros may not have been briefed beforehand that the Philippines adheres to a “One China Policy,”recognizing that PRC is the only legitimate China.

Or did the senator think Taiwan can help resolve the Philippines’ issue with PRC? Or worse, did she think she was meeting with the president of PRC?

Many believe that while she is a senator, Hontiveros does not have authority to speak on behalf of the Executive Department regarding a policy issue that truly belongs to the Philippine president, i.e., President Bongbong Marcos.

US Republicans Grooming Elon Musk To Be Their 2024 Standard Bearer!

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – Donald Trump may have already launched his 2024 (re)bid for the US presidency, but the Republican Party is not necessarily throwing their support for the ex-President.

Republicans are worried that the recent indictment of Trump by a New York jury could shatter their chances of regaining The White House.

Now, a powerful faction with the GOP is launching a move to nominate Twitter owner and soon-to-be ex-CEO, as their standard bearer for the 2024 presidential elections.

“Musk has the charisma, the influence, the experience and the money to guarantee a successful campaign,” a source close to the Republican leadership told The Adobo Chronicles. “If he has the vision for electric cars, space exploration, and a free, uncensored world wide web, he would certainly have even greater goals for America to be great again,” the source said.

On the Democrats’ front, rumors about Joe Biden not capable of another four years as President continue to haunt the party. So what’s the alternative?

A fly on the wall quipped: Mark Zuckerberg.
