An Ode To The First Lady And A Gentleman

In the Palace hall of grand debate,

A gesture fine, but quite ornate,

A glass of wine, a sip so pure,

To show a bond that’s deep and sure.

“Here, dear First Lady, take a taste,”

With gallant flair and solemn haste,

The Senate’s head, with wine in hand,

Proclaimed a bond across the land.

She sipped, she smiled, returned the glass,

A symbol strong of power’s class.

Eastern rites, with honor steeped,

And intimacies subtly peeped.

In ancient courts, they’d toast the king,

A pledge of life and everything.

At weddings too, the lovers drink,

From shared cups, their hearts in sync.

Even Jesus let His Disciples drink from His cup,

So let no one bring intrigue to make up.

Malacanang: Maisug Pledge Must Be Recited At Flag Retreat

MANILA — In a bold move to further unite the nation, Malacañang has issued an addendum to its recent directive on patriotic rituals.

Following the mandate to recite the Bagong Pilipinas hymn and pledge during Monday flag-raising ceremonies, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin announced the compulsory recitation of the Maisug Pledge every Friday during flag retreats.

The text of the Maisug Pledge, included in the memo, celebrates the administration’s values of bravery and unity.

Critics, however, view this as yet another layer of ceremonial pageantry. “We’re thrilled to have more opportunities to express our patriotism,” said one government employee with a notable lack of enthusiasm. Others speculate that Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays might soon receive their own ceremonial enhancements.

How fair, this administration, in its relentless pursuit of nationalistic fervor!

Japan Maisug Rally: We Have The Highlights And Photos!

(screenshots from live stream)

Ah, the Maisug Rally in Japan on June 8th—a dazzling display of local talent because, apparently, importing acts from the Philippines was a budgetary stretch (no offense to our homegrown stars or local talent).

The highlight? Speakers like Dr. Lorraine Badoy, Harry Roque, and Atty. Vic Rodriguez, who likely financed their own way there. Zoom speeches by Atty. Glenn Chong and Maharlika graced the event—either due to financial constraints or the mysterious, elusive nature of Japanese visas.

Free media coverage from the “defunct” SMNI what a deal. BTW, where’s your ninong?

And the audience? A triumph in compactness, filling less than a third of the small theater, with ample room for everyone to move comfortably on stage for a groupie.

Bravo, Maisug! Truly, an event for the ages, where enthusiasm and minimalism met in perfect, albeit sparsely attended, harmony.
