Maria Ressa, Raissa Robles, Gabriela File Appeal On Behalf Of Imelda Marcos!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Following the denial by the Sandiganbayan of a motion by Imelda Marcos and Irene Marcos-Araneta to reacquire some two dozen properties and assets earlier deemed as illegally acquired, Maria Ressa, Raissa Robles and the women’s group Gabriela filed a motion for reconsideration in favor of the Marcoses.

In their joint urgent motion, the petitioners said they were supporting the Marcoses on this case.

In an Adobo Chronicles interview with Ressa, the Nobel lauriat and convicted CEO of Rappler, she said that the denial all but invalidates what she and other opposition groups claim regarding the death of Democracy and Justice in the Philippines.

“We ask the Court to reverse its decision so that we can continue our narrative that Democracy and Justice are dead in the Philippines, and that the Marcoses continue to have illegal influence and power in the country.

Robles and Gabriela seconded Ressa’s motion.

Math Wizard: Leni Robredo Finally Meets Her Match!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – For several years now, ex-Vice President Leni Robredo has been dubbed the “Math Wizard” with her infamous mathematical computation of 4 x 40 = 1,600.

Well, move over, Leni.

A young kid has taken over the title after he solved a most difficult math question: what is infinity + infinity? He correctly answered: 16! What a genius!

PRC, DICT Push For Vlogger Licensure Exam!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – As Nobel lauriat Maria Ressa likes to say, “Without facts, you can’t have truth.” Without truth, you are a liar.

With this in mind, the Philippines’ Professional Regulation Commission and the Department of Information and Communications Technology have jointly proposed that all meandering, fly-by-night vloggers must undergo licensure exams in order to practice the “profession.”

Unlike all other major professions, journalists and vloggers don’t need to be licensed in order to do what they do (or not do).

The proposal came after the PRC and DICT noticed the proliferation of vloggers like Raissa Robles, Maharlika, Jover Laurio and many others who use social media to manufacture and spread lies. Robles, for one, a self-proclaimed investigative journalist and failed book author, uses Twitter to scout for interviewees for her “stories” and crowdsourcing to gather juicy gossip. Maharlika relies on unreliable “sources” to sugar-coat her fictitious posts.

PRC and DICT said they will send their proposal to Senator Robin Padilla so that the appropriate bill on the professionalization of vlogging can be filed.
