Drag Artist Pura Luka Vega Spotted In Baguio City!

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – No ‘persona non grata’ declaration could stop drag artist Pura Luka Vega from doing what he does best: impersonating various characters.

Vega was the object of the ire of many Filipinos for his drag act dressed as Jesus Christ, singing along to a rock rendition of “Ama Namin” (The Lord’s Prayer).

Since then, the real-life Amadeus Fernando Pagente has been declared persona non grata in Manila, General Santos City, Floridablanca in Pampanga, Toboso in Negros Occidental, Nueva Ecija province, Bukidnon province, and Cagayan de Oro City.

Pagente was spotted at Session Road in Baguio City, during the weekly Cosplay Sunday where residents and tourists dress up in their favorite characters.

The controversial drag queen was seen dressed as a nun, along with a friend. No one recognized him — proof that those persona non grata declarations have no effect. He could go as any character he chooses.

Baguio City, so far, has not issued a declaration of the mere symbolic and non-binding persona non grata against Pagente.

President Marcos To Appoint Maria Ressa As Special Emissary To China!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Most Filipinos think that former President Rodrigo Duterte would be the best Philippine Emissary to China to broker a diplomatic solution to the South China Sea territorial dispute between the two countries. It is a well-known fact that Duterte is good friends with Chinese President Xi Jinping. (Duterte recently met with Xi during his personal visit to China.)

But President Bongbong Marcos has a different idea.

He wants to appoint Rappler CEO Maria Ressa as his personal representative on South China Sea affairs. “Who could be the best to fill that role than the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate herself,” Marcos told The Adobo Chronicles.

Our sources tell us that Marcos had already met secretly with Ressa who surprised Filipinos with her sudden 180-degree turn in as far as her thoughts and impressions were on the President. She now says Marcos (whom she labeled “son of a dictator”) is doing a good job.

No word yet on when Malacañang will formally announce Ressa’s appointment, which would earn her a presidential pardon in the event that the Supreme Court affirms her cyber libel conviction.

OCTA: Leni Robredo Fails To Make It to Senate 2025 Top 12!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The 15 Million who voted for Leni Robredo in the 2022 Philippine Presidential elections, and those who are pushing for her to run for the Senate in 2025 have their work cut out for them.

In its most recent poll, OCTA Research lists Erwin Tulfo leading the pack of the top 12 “senatoriables.” Rodrigo Duterte Man-in-Waiting Bong Go was second.

Robredo was not in the top 5, or top 10, or top 12.

In the 2022 Senate elections, Robin Padilla was No. 1 with 26 Million votes. No. 12 was Jinggoy Estrada with 15 Million votes — the same number Robredo received as presidential candidate.

Maybe, Robredo should rename her “largest” volunteer network (Angat Buhay) to “Angat Boto” in order for her to make a dent in the 2025 Senate race.
