Anti-Jeepney Phaseout: Shame On Adults Who Exploit Innocent Children

In a stunning display of questionable parenting choices, adults have shamelessly recruited children as the unwitting faces of protests against the jeepney modernization program. What better way to advance a cause than to parade youngsters, blissfully ignorant of the complexities surrounding transportation policy? Clearly, indoctrinating the innocent is the latest trend in grassroots activism.

These miniature activists, unable to distinguish between a jeepney and a toy car, are thrust onto the frontline to voice opinions they can’t possibly comprehend. This blatant child exploitation not only undermines the credibility of the protests but raises eyebrows at the ethics of those orchestrating these stunts.

The Departments of Social Welfare Administration and Justice should intervene promptly to protect these unwitting pawns. Let’s spare the children from the political puppetry and let them enjoy their juice boxes and playdates instead of shouldering the weight of societal grievances.

Shame on those who exploit the purity of childhood for their agenda, turning innocence into a tool for manipulation.

Where Art Thou, Angat Buhay, Larry Gadon?

In the magical land of disappearing acts, Leni Robredo’s Angat Buhay Foundation takes center stage, claiming to be the largest volunteer network in the Philippines – a feat accomplished, apparently, by mastering the art of invisibility.

Despite claims of always being “first on the ground” during calamities, the foundation appears to have pulled a Houdini after the latest Marawi attack and Mindanao earthquakes, leaving the affected regions wondering if they missed the memo on the vanishing act. (Cursory check of its website shows their latest update was in June which was …. a repost from February!)

Meanwhile, disbarred Atty. Larry Gadon, appointed as the Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation, seems to be practicing his own disappearing act. Since his appointment in June, the man of the hour has gone MIA, leaving the Filipino people to wonder if poverty itself has been miraculously alleviated, or if Gadon is just perfecting the art of forced hibernation.

In this spectacle of vanishing entities, one can’t help but marvel at the mastery of illusion displayed by these missing in action characters. Perhaps they’ve enrolled in a crash course on “The Disappearance Chronicles 101.”

PBBM: Damed If He Does, Damned If He Doesn’t

Ah, the ever-changing standards of political critique! Critics of President Bongbong Marcos seem to be caught in a paradox. When he was accused of being a “weak” leader, they yearned for assertiveness. Now, as he boldly speaks against China’s encroachment in the South China Sea, the same critics are fumbling for a different tune. It appears the elusive definition of “strong” leadership has left them tongue-tied.

Perhaps their ideal leader is a linguistic gymnast, capable of acrobatic cussing akin to the former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Is the strength of a leader now measured by the proficiency in colorful language rather than diplomatic finesse? One can’t help but marvel at the contorted logic of these critics who navigate the political landscape like tightrope walkers with vertigo. It seems that for some, the only consistency is their penchant for finding fault, regardless of the leader’s actions. Welcome to the circus of political contradictions!
