Forget that legitimate sources worldwide have confirmed the news—why bother with details when you can weave a narrative to keep your followers blissfully misinformed? After all, why let facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory? In his world, vagueness is power, and ambiguity is truth.

It’s an impressive strategy: claim the news is fake while peddling fake news yourself. In the circus of social media, Lopez remains its most persistent clown, performing for an audience that believes the illusion is reality.

Well, it turns out it’s not that scandalous when you consider the alleged images of Guo with former President Rodrigo Duterte floating around.

And why stop there? If politicians are cozy with the ex-Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, who’s really surprised? After all, what’s a government official’s career without the mandatory photo ops, whether it’s with high-profile suspects or while distributing relief goods alongside oversized banners proclaiming their names?

But wait, the pièce de résistance comes courtesy of Senator Bong Go, who charmed netizens with a video of him in a church, sharing “intimate moments” with the Lord—surrounded, of course, by his trusty photographers.

If nothing else, this whole drama reaffirms why we’re the “selfie capital of the world.”

In a masterstroke of selective focus, Davao Region Police Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre has assured the Senate that his attention is solely on apprehending fugitive Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and four others, as named in a warrant of arrest.

Of course, it’s reassuring that Torre and his force wouldn’t dare waste their time on such trivialities as Dr. Lorraine Badoy, KOJC pastor Marlon Acobo, or vlogger Banat By—who just happen to be Quiboloy’s loudest defenders and, coincidentally, recipients of the good pastor’s “generosity.”

It’s comforting to know that while Quiboloy evades capture, his staunch supporters remain free to fan the flames of public confusion and misinformation. Why bother with those connected to the fugitive when you can chase after the man himself, right? Surely, the Filipino people wouldn’t be concerned about such figures, who by pure coincidence, happen to orbit closely around Quiboloy’s sphere of influence.
