WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – If elected president of the United States, Republican candidate Donald Trump says he will deport all 11 million undocumented immigrants now living in the country.  And he wants to do more.

He says he will seek to change the 14th Amendment that gives citizenship rights to all individuals born in the United States, including children of parents who are here illegally.

But Trump will not wait to become president to wage his war against non-citizens.  He says he will ask the Department of Homeland Security to deport Ted Cruz, another Republican presidential candidate.  Cruz was born in Canada.

“Ted Cruz has such a nerve to run for president when he is not even a natural-born citizen,” Trump said.  “At least Barack Obama was able to show his birth certificate evidencing that he was born in America.  But it is an open book that Cruz was not born in this country.”

Trump made the comments during today’s ‘Meet the Press’ on NBC, where he outlined details of his immigration policy.

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – It looks like a clear case of sexual harassment, and it happened in a most unlikely venue — the annual national convention of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA).

The convention is happening at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Embarcadero in San Francisco.

A female convention attendee went on the organization’s Facebook page to complain about a male attendee who allegedly sexually harassed her at the convention hotel. According to the post, the male attendee told her that he had a big c*ck and followed her all the way to her hotel room door, despite her protestation.

Reacting to the post, AAJA national president Paul Cheung responded by saying that AAJA’s leadership is “working with both parties to gain a better understanding of the incident.”

In reality, the leadership is trying to gain a better understand of sexual harassment.

The AAJA board is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Sunday, and has invited an expert from the San Francisco Human Rights Commission to conduct an in-service training for the board members so that they can better deal with the alleged incident.

“This has never happened before,” a board member said, “so we ask our membership to be patient and understanding while we determine what steps we need to take.”

FILIPINO MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING LIVE-IN PARTNER, BABY, ACQUITTED, THANKS TO NEWS HEADLINE

imageBACOLOD CITY,  Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – A Filipino man accused of killing his live-in partner and baby was acquitted today of murder charges, thanks to a news headline.

The 21-year-old man was accused of stabbing his live-in partner and nine-month-old baby last month in Silay City, Negros Occidental. He was believed to be high on drugs when he allegedly commited the murder.

The man didn’t have any lawyer. Rather, he defended himself in court before the judge.

In his defense, the man presented “Exhibit A” consisting of a hard copy of  a news headline that appeared on the news site, Inquirer.net.

The headline read, “Man, ‘high on drugs,’ stabs dead partner, baby in Negros Occidental.”

In arguing for himself, the accused told the judge, “How can I be charged with murder when the people I stabbed were already dead?”

Neither the judge nor the prosecution attorney could challenge his defense argument.

The judge then immediately issued an acquittal order and the man was released from custody.

He could still face new charges of attempted murder.
