Congress, DDS Blogger Go Crazy Over “Mary Grace Piattos”

(Melchor Vergara contributed to this report)

What a riveting political drama! The case of “Mary Grace Piattos” has gripped the nation like a binge-worthy teleserye.

From acknowledgment receipts to confidential funds, we now find ourselves in the surreal hunt for a potentially fictional figure—because nothing screams governance like a ghost chase! Congress’ P1-million reward for finding her is pure entertainment. Who needs reality TV when our legislative body is out here playing “Detective Pikachu”?

Enter Joie de Vivre, the Duterte loyalist blogger, demanding the military step in—because clearly, Congress has trespassed on sacred ground, and has compromised national security!

Who needs separation of powers when you can have a turf war over investigative jurisdiction? Why let the truth emerge when we can turn democracy into a circus, complete with performers pulling stunts for the crowd?

Mary Grace Piattos may be a figment of imagination, but the absurdity she has inspired? That’s 100% real—and utterly delicious.

The Circus Game Called Quadcom

Congress’ Quadcom has mastered the art of playing safe — or as they like to call it, “strategic neutrality” — in what’s turning out to be the most chaotic circus game of all time.

They’re juggling public pressure, legal pretensions, and the looming specter of Rodrigo Duterte, whose admissions on the Davao Death Squad have been blasted across livestreams, social media, and every nook of the internet.

Yet, Quadcom now declares it won’t provide transcripts to the International Criminal Court. Bravo! Such bold cowardice deserves a standing ovation.

Let’s be clear: Quadcom has no power to convict Duterte. Their hearings are like a barking dog with no bite. But their refusal to hand over transcripts is peak comedy. Do they think the ICC’s lawyers are fumbling interns who can’t download a YouTube video? The hearings are already public, with Duterte himself owning responsibility in full cinematic glory. Yet Quadcom clutches those transcripts like an ace up its sleeve, forgetting they’re playing a game where the cards are face-up.

The legislators’ game is a farce, one where the stakes are real lives and justice. But why risk clarity when you can straddle the line, look busy, and avoid accountability? A circus, indeed — with Quadcom as its timid clowns.

Rodrigo Duterte Speaks From Either Side Of His Mouth

Rodrigo Duterte, the Philippines’ unapologetic political firebrand, has outdone himself in his latest theatrical performance.

On one side of his mouth, he declares an unshakable faith in the Philippine judicial system, professing his preference to face justice on home soil—a touching display of patriotism, if not for the irony. On the other side, he dares the International Criminal Court to “bring it on,” swaggering like a man auditioning for a James Bond villain role. Is it hubris, or just another Duterte quip designed to keep his critics dizzy?

His duality leaves us in awe. Is he a staunch nationalist unwilling to bow to international scrutiny, or is he the ultimate showman, knowing full well the ICC doesn’t operate on a dare system? Either way, his gambit guarantees one thing: Duterte remains the headline king. Whether justice is served in Manila or The Hague, the spectacle is far from over.
