U.N. Experts Want President Marcos To Declare Martial Law!

NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – Rappler is reporting that United Nations experts want Philippine President Bongbong Marcos to declare Martial Law.

After the denial of bail for incarcerated former Senator Leila de Lima, the experts now want Marcos to free her and to investigate how she ended up in jail in the first place.

The only way Marcos could do that is to declare Martial Law which would suspend all Constitutional processes.

Under the Philippine Constitution, there is separation among the three branches of government — Executive, Legislative and Judicial. The President cannot dictate on the Judiciary which is what the U.N. experts want him to do.

De Lima’s case is now under the Judicial Branch.

Entire Philippines Proud Of EJ Obiena, PhilStar Is Not!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Filipino pride!

The entire Philippines is celebrating Filipino athlete EJ Obiena after he broke the glass ceiling — the 6-meter elite threshold of the world’s greatest pole vaulters.

But not The Philippine Star. They seem to have a beef with Obiena.

Case in point: The Star, instead of congratulating Obiena and celebrating with Filipinos, wrote a nega article about the athlete, all but dousing his extraordinary feat with cold water.

Shame on PhilStar!

Vera Files’ Ellen Tordesillas Makes It To Prestigious List of International ‘Journalists’!

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – It seems the Philippines’ “fact checkers” are doing very well on the international scene.

Move over, Maria Ressa. Here comes Ellen Tordesillas of Vera Files.

In an exposé published by America First Legal, and advocacy group akin to ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), Tordesillas was named among 11 ‘journalists’ who decide what Americans (and others) can see online.

AFL said Tordesillas has been working with Facebook since 2018 “to remove political content” (read: censorship) in the Philippines.

What an honor for the country to be represented in this prestigious, albeit notorious list!
