Palo Alto, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – A new study by a research team at Stanford University has identified the genetic triggers to hair color, specifically blond hair.
The new study published in Nature Genetics finds that a switch of a single letter of the genetic code is responsible for lighter hair: An A (adenine) is changed to a G (guanine) on a region of human chromosome 12. The team says that because this specific genetic change only affects the hair follicle, other cell types — especially, say, brain cells — are not affected. This means that blond hair really is “only skin deep.”
“It’s clear that this hair color change is occurring through a regulatory mechanism that operates only in the hair. This isn’t something that also affects other traits, like intelligence or personality, ” the study concluded.
The stereotype of blonds being dumb is therefore just that, a stereotype.

Bangkok, Thailand (The Adobo Chronicles) – Netizens the world over were so busy googling and oogling over Kim Kardasian’s photograph showng her naked posterior that they totally missed a major international news about the Reality TV star that happened in Thailand.
A teenager from a children’s home in a poverty-stricken region of Thailand made an astonishing decision to turn down an offer from Kardashian to adopt her into a life of wealth and glamour overseas.
The level-headed 13-year-old called Pink said she shook with excitement when she heard the multi-millionaire wanted to adopt her, but insisted she wanted to study in Thailand instead then help her impoverished homeland and the orphans she has grown up with.
The girl with a sunny smile stole Kim’s heart when she visited the ramshackle children’s home in Thailand’s Phang Nga province, a region where more than 4,000 people perished in the 2004 tsunami. Pink, an outstanding scholar whose mother sent her to the home because she was too poor to care for her and fund her education, immediately bonded with Kim and gave her a bracelet in a visit in April filmed for her hit show Keeping Up with The Kardashians.
But after being told the reality TV star wanted to adopt her, Pink said: ‘Everyone wants to have a different or a better life, I suppose. But when I thought about it I realised it wouldn’t be good for me, because I would have to leave so much behind. I wasn’t ready for that.’
Adopted by Kim Kardashian
Kardashian and husband Kanye West were shocked and couldn’t believe the child’s decision.
Kardashian became so depressed that she decided to take time off from her busy schedule to vacation in an undisclosed place in Africa, just to get away from the frustration and embarrassment.
While in Africa, Kardashian encountered a pink flamingo and immediately fell in love with it. The Adobo Chronicles has learned that Kardashian adopted the gorgeous-looking bird.
She apparently feels vindicated after that adoption rejection from Pink.
