MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – With the fire that gutted the Manila Central Post Office today, Filipinos can expect another 5-year delay in the delivery of their long-delayed National ID.
The Philippine Statistics Authority which is in charge of the production of the National ID, told The Adobo Chronicles that Filipinos who have not yet received their IDs will have to re-register and go through the application and waiting process all over again, which could take at least 5 years.
This is a developing story.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) -Vice President Sara Duterte has had it with film maker Darryl Yap’s meddling in purely government affairs, especially goings-on in the presidential palace, Malacañang.
“We have enough trolls, gossip-mongers and purveyors of fake news, we don’t need a film director joining in the fray,” Duterte said.
In calling Yap a “tambaloslos,” the VP advised Yap to stick to what he does best — film making.
(“Tambaloslos” is mythical creature with a large mouth and penis found in Visayan, Bicolano and Mindanao folklore. The creature is believed to confuse and misguide people, making them lose their way or go around in circles.)
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The National Housing Authority, the agency mandated to engage in housing production for low-income families, has an almost impossible task. It could not cope with the massive work of providing decent abode for the less-fortunate in Philippine Society — especially in over-crowded Metro Manila.
So, as an alternative, NHA is looking at ways to at least make life more comfortable to families stuck in squatter areas.
For starters, NHA is proposing to build swimming pools that can be shared by all families living in designated low-income areas.
It has unveiled the first of such project in a press conference held yesterday at the posh Okada Hotel in Parañaque City.
