MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The National Housing Authority, the agency mandated to engage in housing production for low-income families, has an almost impossible task. It could not cope with the massive work of providing decent abode for the less-fortunate in Philippine Society — especially in over-crowded Metro Manila.
So, as an alternative, NHA is looking at ways to at least make life more comfortable to families stuck in squatter areas.
For starters, NHA is proposing to build swimming pools that can be shared by all families living in designated low-income areas.
It has unveiled the first of such project in a press conference held yesterday at the posh Okada Hotel in Parañaque City.
