Senate Employees Join Bloggers On Day 2 Of De Lima Protest
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – On Day 222 of Leila De Lima’s incarceration, pro-Duterte bloggers Mike Acebedo Lopez and R.J. Nieto (a.k.a. Thinking Pinoy) took a selfie in front of the senator’s office and posted it on social media.
They didn’t want it to be a one-day thing, so the two went back on Day 223 for another photo opp.
To their surprise, they were joined by Pro-De Lima Senate employees who also took photos, along with Lopez and Nieto.
This is Democracy at work, people!
(It wasn’t clear whether the Senate employees took to De Lima’s office during office hours or their coffee or lunch break.). We hope investigative journalist Raissa Robles can find out.
Senator Risa Hontiveros Wants To Censure Pro-Duterte Bloggers For Offensive Photo
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – She wanted bloggers Thinking Pinoy and Mike Acebedo Lopez to respect the office of senators, including that of incarcerated Senator Leila De Lima.
Senator Risa Hontiveros found it offensive that the two pro-Duterte bloggers posted on social media a selfie of them in front of De Lima’s senatorial office in an apparent taunt and so she wanted the Senate to formally censure Lopez and Thinking Pinoy.
It happened before a Senate hearing on ‘fake news.’
”To spread fake news that De Lima is an agent of satan (666) is uncalled for,” Hontiveros said.
Hontiveros wasn’t aware that the photo she was referring to, was, well, fake.
