99% Of Pinoys Support Senate Invitation To Bong Go In Connection With Philippine Warships Deal Hearing

CCAB1389-A242-4F88-B699-8817E9B37198MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Senate is set to investigate the P15.5-billion Philippine warships deal, amid allegations that Special Assistant to the President Bong Go intervened in the project.

The minority bloc filed Senate Resolution 584 on January 16, directing the Senate committee on national defense and security and the congressional oversight committee on the Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Act to conduct an inquiry on the status of its implementation, including the acquisition of the two Philippine Navy frigates.

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, and Senators Francis Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, Paolo Benigno Aquino IV, Antonio Trillanes IV, and Leila de Lima signed the resolution.

An Adobo Chronicles nationwide survey shows that almost all Filipinos — a whoppping 99% — support the appearance of Go in the Senate Inquiry.

While none of those surveyed think that Go had anything to do with the questionable warships deal, the survey respondents said that they would very much like to hear the voice of Duterte’s “right-hand man.”

While Go is always seen in public with the President, very few Filipinos have even heard him speak.

’This will perhaps be our only chance to hear him speak,” the respondents said.

The big question: is Bong Go a tenor or a baritone?

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Trillanes is GOing abroad and won’t be back until February.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Burereau) – The Philippines formally rejected at least P380 million (6.1 million euros) in aid from the European Union, Ambassador Franz Jessen confirmed Wednesday, January 24.  Jessen is the head of the EU Delegation to the Philippines.

But what the Mainstream News Media are not reporting was that despite this rejection, President Rodrigo Duterte has offered to send a high-level expert team from the Philippines to the EU.

”It’s a gift from the Filipino people to EU,” Duterte reportedly told Jessen.

The expert team is composed of Vice President Leni Robredo, Senator Antonio Trillanes, Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, Commissioner on Human Rights Chito Gaston and Rappler CEO Maria Ressa.

Duterte urged EU to utilize this team in whatever way it deems appropriate.

Asked if Duterte set any conditions for the gift, Jessen said ‘Yes. No return, no exchange.’

What a generous president we have!

Robredo was visiting some of the residents affected by Mayon Volcano’s recent eruptions and told reporters that there should be a more permanent solution to the region’s problems.

She told The Adobo Chronicles that she will recommend the pouring of concrete into Mayon’s crater and permanently seal it to prevent future eruptions.

How come nobody ever thought of that before?
