BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – The Adobo Chronicles mourns the sudden passing of Pastor Myke Sotero who, using the name “Beki Baguio,” penned the lyrics of a satirical version of “Do You Hear The People Sing?” from Les Misérables.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – A poll on potential candidates for the 2028 Philippine presidential elections shows that former Senator and defeated 2022 Vice Presidential candidate Kiko Pangilinan leads Vice President Sara Duterte by a margin of 3 to 1!
Pangilinan garnered 72% versus Duterte’s 24%.
The question asked in the poll was “Which potential 2028 presidential candidate will experience the same fate as Leni Robredo?”
The people have spoken!
SOUTH CHINA SEA (The Adobo Chronicles, Aquatic Bureau) – Despite tensions in the South China Sea over territorial rights between China and the Philippines, the Philippine Coast Guard says it is not worried about a Chinese attack on Ayungin Shoal, claimed by both countries as part of their respective territories.
The BRP Sierra Madre, donated by the United States from its World War II arsenal, stands guard at the Shoal to protect any foreign attack or invasion.
But the Coast Guard told The Adobo Chronicles that the reason for its confidence is because of the present condition of the Sierra Madre. It is a huge piece of floating rust.
The Coast Guard says China will not dare to attack the Shoal because its military might contract tetanus if they come in direct contact with the expansive rust of the Philippine ship.
The best China can do is to fire a water cannon at Philippine and other boats that try to approach the Ayungin Shoal.
