Senator Grace Poe Promises To Resign If Ateneo Wins In The UAAP Finals

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Grace Poe earlier delivered a public prayer seeking divine intervention so that the University of the Philippines (U.P.) wins in this year’s UAAP Finals over Ateneo.

Poe attended U.P. before moving to Boston to finish her undergraduate degree.

Many have said that the last time U.P. was in the basketball finals, the country “deposed a dictator, Ferdinand E. Marcos.”  They are hoping that a U.P. victory this year would lead to President Duterte being deposed as well.

Poe has similar hopes, but went further by saying that if U.P. loses and Ateneo wins, she will step down as a Senator.

Quite a deal, we’d say.

Vice President Leni Robredo’s Statement On The Appointment Of Lucas Purugganan Bersamin As Supreme Court CJ

Bersamin

MANILA, Philippies (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Vice Presidential Assistant Georgina Hernandez is on leave of absence, and Leni Robredo can’t wait any longer to issue a statement on the appointment by President Duterte of Lucas Purugganan Bersamin as the new Chief Justice of the Philippine Supreme Court.

The Adobo Chronicles obtained an advanced copy of Robredo’s statement and part of it reads:

Senator Bam Aquino On Bonifacio Day: Remember Ninoy’s Love Of Country

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Opposition Senator Bam Aquino urged Filipinos to remember his uncle Ninoy’s ‘love of country.’

Bam apparently mistook Bonifacio Day as the day honoring  Marcial Bonifacio, Ninoy’s alias used in his fake passport at the time he was gunned down at the Manila International Airport.

November 30 is a Philippine national holiday honoring Andres Bonifacio, one of the country’s national heroes.
