Did Rigoberto Tiglao Do a Krizette Laureta Chu Who Did A Jay Sonza?

Previously, we posted a story on how journalist-turned-vlogger Krizette Laureta Chu did a journalist-turned-blogger Jay Sonza by propagating fakery on social media. Chu posted a photoshopped image of allegedly U.S. fighter bombers landing in the Philippines for an unknown move. Sonza on the other hand posted a pre-Covid pandemic photo of a vehicular gridlock at NLEX and made it appear to be the situation for this year’s Holy Week trek outside of Metro Manila. (Revisit our story here: https://adobochronicles.com/2024/03/31/fact-check-did-journalist-krizette-lauretta-chu-just-do-a-jay-sonza/)

Lo and Behold, yet another journalist-turned blogger, Manila Times columnist Rigoberto Tiglao posted the same fake photo uploaded by Chu.

Pity the honest-to-goodness professional journalists whose image are tarnished by the malicious social media maneuvers of the likes of Chu, Sonza and Tiglao.

The Ball Is Now In VP Sara Duterte’s Court

Screenshot

In the ongoing political theater of the absurd, President Bongbong Marcos has deftly maneuvered Vice President Sara Duterte into a precarious position. With all the subtlety of a bull in a china shop (pun intended), Marcos declared that Duterte’s nonchalant “no comment” stance on China’s territorial bullying in the South China Sea is, in fact, a tacit endorsement of the administration’s approach.

By implicating Duterte as complicit in the government’s diplomacy, Marcos has effectively painted her into a corner, forcing her to either renounce her father’s legacy or embrace the label of being anti-China—a political hot potato she’d probably rather not handle.

It’s a classic case of political brinkmanship, where the ball is now firmly in Duterte’s court. Will she risk the wrath of her father’s supporters by denouncing Marcos’ claim, or will she swallow her pride and forever hold her peace, leaving the nation to wonder where her loyalties truly lie?

Only time will tell in this absurd game of political chess.

U.S. Navy: A Photo Op Gone Awry?

(Adobo Chronicles senior geopolitical correspondent BRIAN NEYRA contributed to this report.)

Leave it to the observant eyes of Filipino netizens. They spot details like a thread going through a needle. Such is the case with a U.S. Navy photo posted online. It was an impressive shot of a Navy officer firing a rifle from on board a U.S. vessel.

But something seems to have gone wrong. The (tele)scope of the rifle seemed to have been mounted backwards with the lens still covered with a cap.

Unless, of course, this was a new model that was being fire-tested.
