Maria Ressa’s Rappler Caught Red-handed Plagiarizing An HIV Article

In a stunning display of journalistic prowess, Rappler, the self-proclaimed paragon of truth, has been caught in the act of shameless plagiarism.

In a bizarre twist of irony, the online news portal, led by the seemingly infallible Maria Ressa, was caught red-handed copy-pasting an HIV article from a U.S. doctor without so much as a polite nod.

When confronted about their dubious journalistic practices, Rappler responded with the subtlety of a bull in a china shop. Rather than owning up to their transgressions, the news outlet opted for the classic “update and ignore” strategy. In a move that can only be described as audacious, Rappler chose to sweep the plagiarism under the virtual rug, citing a mere failure to cite sources as the root of the problem.

One can’t help but marvel at the breathtaking arrogance on display. Maria Ressa, in her grandiose declarations of journalistic integrity, seems to have overlooked the basic tenet of not stealing other people’s work. Perhaps the beacon of truth has a faulty compass, or maybe it’s just a little dimmed by the glare of its own hubris.

by Melchor Vergara

In a twist that left customers scratching their heads, Jollibee, the Philippines’ beloved fast-food giant, has inadvertently stumbled upon the next big culinary sensation.

The chaos began when a daring customer, seeking the ultimate fusion experience, ordered two seemingly innocent takeout items: one Chicken Joy with Palabok, the other Chicken Joy with spaghetti.

Little did he know that he was about to become the unsuspecting pioneer of a gastronomic revolution. Upon unboxing his treasures at home, he was greeted with a revelation: his palabok noodle order was swimming in a sea of spaghetti sauce, while his spaghetti looked back at him, adorned with palabok sauce.

Jollibee promptly compensated the baffled customer for the mix-up, but the fast-food chain, always quick to turn lemons into lemonade, decided to embrace the chaos.

Enter the era of culinary confusion with Jollibee’s newest creations: Spalabok and Palghetti. These unconventional delights have tongues wagging and taste buds on a rollercoaster ride.

Who needs traditional order accuracy when you can have a plateful of surprise?

Jollibee’s mix-up may have been an accident, but Spalabok and Palghetti are the accidental masterpieces we never knew we needed. Bon appétit, with a side of unpredictability!

Paid Trolls: And The Survey Said…

The Adobo Chronicles recently conducted a revealing survey among 100 random Filipino respondents, shedding light on the linguistic arsenal employed by paid trolls in the digital realm.

The question posed was simple yet impactful: “What words or phrases are most frequently used by paid trolls?”

The top three responses, namely “Tanga” (stupid), “Bobo” (dull-witted), and “KSP” (Kulang Sa Pansin or attention-seeking), offer a glimpse into the dark underbelly of online discourse.

These findings underscore the prevalence of derogatory and inflammatory language used by paid trolls to manipulate public opinion and sow discord. The deliberate use of words that demean intelligence and question one’s motives reflects a strategy aimed at stifling constructive dialogue.

This survey highlights the importance of fostering a more respectful and informed online environment, as well as the urgent need for platforms and users alike to combat the toxic rhetoric perpetuated by paid trolling.
