Rodrigo Duterte Was President Marcos’ Special Envoy To China!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Internet went wild with speculation about the recent meeting between former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Some netizens speculated that China only recognizes Duterte as Philippine President. Others said Xi’s meeting with Duterte was an insult to President Bongbong Marcos.

But the truth always comes out.

Now it can be told that Duterte was President Bongbong Marcos’ appointed personal envoy to China. In chess speak, “use your pawns to your advantage!”

The proof of the pudding is in the eating: Duterte visited Malacañang to personally report on the results of his meeting with Xi.

Duterte’s report will remain a secret. It’s only for Marcos’ ear.

Will this mark the reunification of Marcos loyalists and the Die-hard Duterte’s?

Senator Cynthia Villar Files Bill Banning ‘Unli Rice!’

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Cynthia Villar is taking her chairmanship of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food very seriously. The committee is close to her heart as it can impact her real estate and subdivision business.

Today, Villar filed a bill permanently banning ‘unli rice’ offered by many Philippine restaurants like Mang Inasal and Adobo Connection.

Villar’s move comes after the National Food Authority announced its rice buffer stock will only last for two days.

President Bongbong Marcos has also expressed concern about the country’s rice supply situation and has hinted about more rice importation in the near future.

In her bill, Villar said: “Imagine how much rice the country can save if we banned restaurants from serving unli rice in their establishments. It could spell the difference between rice sufficiency and rice shortage.”

The senator added that her bill would also help improve the health status of all Filipinos and prevent more cases of diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity.
