MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Filipino cuisine can definitely compete with the best of the best in the world, but presentation has always been its achilles heel. After all, delicious food is not all about taste, ingredients and nutrition, but also about presentation.
Well, the time has come for one of the best-loved Filipino dishes, Kare-Kare. Thanks to the ingenuity of Filipino chefs, this delectable dish of meat and vegetables in peanut sauce has become world class.
Kare-Kare will soon be served at Michelin Star-designated restaurants around the world.
This dish now joins Sinigang (voted the best soup by Taste Atlas), in the world’s culinary elites!
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The business competition between America’s McDonald’s and the Philippines’ Jollibee continues unabated.
McDonald’s has acknowledged that its the world’s No. 1 fast food chain, except in the Philippines where it can’t beat that “fat, stupid, happy bee.”
Early this year, McDonald’s opened its very first fully-automated location in Settlement, Texas, where there are no employees — just machines, robots, and an interactive system for ordering from the menu.
Well, Jollibee won’t be beaten by that red-haired clown.
Today, the popular Filipino fast food chain said that by the year 2025, all of its outlets in the Philippines and abroad will be fully automated, and that all of its employees will be terminated and given a separation pay.
Those skilled and qualified will be offered position as ITs, computer programmers and online customer service representatives.
So here’s an unsolicited advice to all Jollibee employees. Enroll in computer classes and be certified by TESDA!
