MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Filipina Broadway actress Lea Salonga reminded her fans to respect her personal space and not cross boundaries following an incident where Filipino fans entered her dressing room without permission.
The incident happened after her Broadway performance in “Here Lies Love.” A video of the incident posted by Cristopher Retokelly Carpila on July 15, 2023 went viral online as it gained reactions from netizens.
Many defended Salonga while others called her out for being snobbish and elitist.
Among those who support the actress is no less than President Bongbong Marcos.
In siding with Salonga, Marcos issued Proclamation No. 302 declaring August 8-14 each year as “Philippine Space Week.”
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Former broadcaster and now vlogger Anthony Taberna, a.k.a. Ka Tunying has said that the case he filed against Binibining Maharlika for cyber libel is now proceeding in court. He said he has learned that a warrant of arrest is already out for the Los Angeles-based vlogger.
Will Maharlika follow in the footsteps of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy whose YouTube account has been cancelled?
In other words, will YouTube “boljak” the wide-spectacled (and wide-mouth) vlogger?
Mahjarlika touts herself as “boljakera” and names her channel “Boljak” TV.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Russia has put an ICC prosecutor and two judges on its “wanted list” following an arrest order by the criminal court for President Vladimir Putin on charges of crimes against humanity.
Russia opened criminal cases against ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan and judges who ordered Putin’s arrest, including Tomoko Akane and Rosario Salvatore Aitala.
Meanwhile, the government of the Philippines has declared all ICC judges and investigators “persona non grata” following the decision of the court to deny its appeal to stop the investigation on the country’s war on drugs.
Being declared “persona non grata” bars the person/s from entering the country which means ICC’s investigation and court proceedings relating to former President Rodrigo Duterte and his war on drugs will all have to be conducted “in absentia.”
