SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – There are many people who have reached their 90’s — the nonagenarians — but some are more famous than others and are closer to being centenarians.
The Adobo Chronicles pays tribute to world leaders and famous personalities who are in the running to reach 100:
- 1. Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State, 99
- 2. Khamtai Siphandone, former President of Laos,99
- 3. Juan Ponce Enrile, former Philippine Senator, 99
- 4. Jimmy Carter, former US President, 98
- 5. George Soros, rich man, 92
Who among them will reach 100? Our bet is Kissinger who turns 100 on May 27, 2023. Next is Siphandone who will be 100 on February 7, 2024, then Enrile on February 14, 2024.
Enrile will outdo everyone else if reaches 100. Per Philippine law, he will be awarded P100,000, and maybe even P1 Million if he reaches 101 years (legislation pending).
As for distant centenarian candidate Soros, don’t discount him. He is definitely determined to reach 100. Just recently, he tweeted that rumors of him passing away were untrue. He’s alive and kicking!
