MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The first thing that tourists to Metro Manila see en route from the airport to their hotel are the giant billboards that line the streets, advertising underwear, cosmetics, subdivisions, memorial parks, liquor, fast food, attention-deficit politicians, and yes, even the Bible.

But leave it to the entrepreneurial skills of the Filipinos, human beings can now be turned into walking or motoring billboards.

Move It, an on-demand booking platform that provides safe, accessible, and affordable motorcycle-taxi rides, has introduced human billboards and invites commercial advertisers to place their ads on the backs of the riders.

With the nightmarish traffic along many thoroughfares in the metropolis, it may well be worth investing in the human ads for maximum exposure!

U.S. Immigration Blocks Entry Of Terrorist Into San Francisco!

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – Immigration authorities successfully blocked the entry of a terrorist into the United States today. It happened at the San Francisco International Airport.

A man with limited English skills was presenting his passport and visa when the immigration officer asked what the purpose of his visit to America was. He then requested the assistance of an interpreter.

After the interpreter briefly talked to the incoming passenger, he said the man was a terrorist. Immediately, the immigration officer cancelled the man’s visa and sent him back on the first available flight out of San Francisco.

It turns out that what the man wanted to say was that he was a tourist, not a terrorist.

Moral of the story: when dealing with immigration authorities, forget interpreters. Use sign language instead.

Leni Robredo Stuns In Cleopatra Costume!

CAIRO , Egypt (The Adobo Chronicles, Cairo Bureau) – She’s gone from Hadouken to Karate Kid, from Miss Universe to Samurai, and there’s no stopping ex-Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo from her new passion for cosplay.

This week, the lawyer-mother of three daughters who are all girls, donned the Cleopatra costume while vacationing in Egypt.

Fugitive former Chairman of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Andy Bautista calls her a “world-class human being” and is very impressed about Robredo’s ability to portray different famous characters. He hopes someday that she can don a leather suit with a leather whip which is Bautista’s admitted fetish.
