MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – We all remember when Maria Ressa complained about the government tagging it as a ”dealer in securities” in connection with the probe on Rappler’s alleged illegal foreign investment.
Well, fairy tales do come true.
After being in the rock bottom in audience trust of Philippine news media brands in the last two consecutive polls by the Reuters Institute at the University of Oxford, Ressa is throwing in the towel.
The convicted Rappler CEO who worked her way up to the Nobel Peace Prize through lies and disinformation, told The Adobo Chronicles that she was shutting down her online news business and investing instead in securities.
She said she was confident of the success of her new venture because many of her young staff at Rappler are financial, economic and business experts. ”It’s going to be a win-win situation.,” she added.

If credibility is low, Rapler will not succeed anywhere.
