Robredo Camp Now Playing Bahay-Bahayan!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Running out of viable options, the camp of Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo is radically changing its campaign strategy.

Led by Robredo’s daughter Tricia, the camp is now going house to house trying to convince Filipinos to vote for her mother. In the Filipino language, it is known as ”bahay-bahayan.”

Bahay-bahayan is when children at play pretend to be mother, father and kids and do chores or activities to mimic real family living.

A total make-believe. Just like Robredo’s quest for the presidency.

Nobel Laureate Maria Ressa’s Rappler Rejoices Over Internet Censorship!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Rappler founder and CEO Maria Ressa’s Nobel Peace Prize was predicated on her supposed advocacy for press freedom, yet her actions and that of her least-trusted news brand in the Philippines seem to contradict the very premise of her award.

Rappler, known for its anti-Duterte and anti-Marcos stance, appeared to rejoice and celebrate over Facebook’s decision to warn viewers of the SMNI news network and film director Darryl Yap’s Facebook pages for alleged fake news and propaganda.

Instead of defending SMNI and Yap’s right to free speech, Rappler happily announced the FB sanction on its social media account:

For its part, Rappler is known to be weaponizing its social media platform to attack the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte and presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and his family.

Rappler is one of Facebook’s fact-checking partners in the Philippines.

There have been calls to revoke Ressa’s Nobel Prize because of the consensus that she didn’t deserve the honor, vis a vis, for example, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
