MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Saying that the Philippine government can save a lot of money, Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon is suggesting that the May, 2022 elections for President be scrapped altogether.
Guanzon’s proposal is based on major surveys conducted by different media outfits showing that former Senator Bongbong Marcos is all but assured to become the next President.’

Marcos leads by insurmountable numbers in Facebook polls conducted by The Manila Bulletin, the Kapamilya Entertainment (owned by ABS-CBN), and Star Image.
Marcos and Leni Robredo are the top vote getters in the three surveys, but the Vice President’s numbers are lagging way behind those of the late President’s son.
In The Manila Bulletin survey — as of press time —Marcos has 574K votes while Robredo has 192K. In the Kapamilya poll, Marcos has 66K to Robredo’s 9.4K. In the Star Image survey, Marcos has 70.9 compared to Robredo’s 4.4K. Marcos also led by huge numbers in the now pulled-out survey done by Rappler.
Guanzon said, the Presidential elections will be an exercise in futility when we already know that Marcos will win by a landslide.
The Comelec Commissioners en banc will meet next week on Guanzon’s proposal.
