MANILA. Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Philippines just made it to the Guinness World Records as the country with the oldest living person — make that persons.
The prestige came after PhilHealth President and CEO Ricardo Morales revealed at a Senate hearing that the government’s health insurance agency had 5,000 Filipinos, aged 130, still included in its roster of members.
The latest known oldest living person is Kane Tanaka from Fukuoka, Japan, who is now 117 years old.
Congratulations, Philippines. We grow old as one!
