Manila Goes 100% Airconditioned!

9898AF70-066A-4878-BFB7-A0EA496726A1MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – May is the hottest month in Manila with an average temperature of 85°F (30°C).

Thanks to airconditioned taxis and buses, commuteres can comfortably go from one point to another without having to bear extreme heat.

But majority of the population commute by jeepney, those open, military-style, King-of-the-Road mode of transportation.

Leave it to Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada who has implemented a unique program that makes commute within the city 100% airconditioned.  Yes, jeepneys included.

  1. If Jeepneys are included amongst the mode of transport to be air-conditioned, this would alleviate 95% of commuters (except those who go on pedicabs /tricycles).
