MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Leave it to President Rodrigo Duterte to exercise political will in closing and rehabilitating the country’s natural resources.  Like Boracay.

But there’s no stopping the President from looking to close and rehabilitate other natural resources, including people.

So today, Duterte ordered the closure of Senator Risa Hontiveros’ mouth to prevent her from issuing public statements until she is fully rehabilitated — which could take years.

In a recent statement on the Supreme Court’s decision to grant the quo warranto petition against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, Hontiveros said it is “a direct stab to the heart of our Constitution.”

“The Supreme Court has opened the floodgates for the removal in the future of other impeachable public officials through arbitrary means and for whimsical reasons,” she said.
