Its exclusive membership is reserved for individuals who can accurately predict political developments in the Philippines and around the world.

Trillanes’ most significant and talked about prophecy was that by the year’s end, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s approval rating will bottom out.

The SWS survey all but killed Trillanes’ hope to head The Prophets of Doom. His reputation is permanently damaged, prompting him to resign from his Church.

Asked by The Adobo Chronicles what his plans are going forward, Trillanes said he is trying to join the staff of either Rappler or Inquirer, or try a broadcast career with ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol.

BREAKING: Supreme Court Will Rule On Marcos Electoral Protest Via Lottery

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – For the millions of Filipinos waiting for a resolution to the Vice Presidential electoral protest filed by former Senator Bongbong Marcos against Leni Robredo, the wait is finally coming to an end.

In an en banc resolution aimed at immediatley determining who among the two is the duly-elected VP, the Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), has set December 27, 2017 as the date in which the name of the true VP will be picked from a bowl.

The PET adopted a similar move in the U.S., in which a tie in the race for the State of Virginia’s 94th District seat in the House of Delegates will result in a lottery. Republican incumbent David Yancey tied with Democratic challenger Shelly Simonds in a recount and a subsequent court decision declaring a “no winner.”

”If it can be done in the U.S., why not here in the Philippines,” Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno told The Adobo Chronicles. “The Filipino voters deserve to have a legitimate Vice President, whoever that may be,” she added.

The drawing of the name of the VP winner will be open to the public and will be held at the EDSA Shrine.

PCSO: We Should Get A Medal For Saving Millions Of Pesos On Our Christmas Party

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Officer (PCSO) is in hot water for spending millions of pesos for its Christmas Party held recently at the plush Shrangi-la Hotel on EDSA.

Newly-appointed PCSO board member Sandra Cam, a.k.a. Whistleblower, was quoted in a report as claiming that the office shelled out P10 million for the party.

In reaction to the report, President Rodrigo Duterte said he will not allow extravagance in government.

But other officials of the PCSO — General Manager Alexander Balutan and Chairman Jose Jorge Corpuz — said that only P6 million of the original P14 million proposed budget was spent.

”Instead of being criticized for spending government funds on a lavish party, the two PCSO officials said their office should be praised and be given a medal for having saved millions of dollars — P8 million to be exact.

Moral of the story: you spend some, you save some.
