NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – Remember that New York Times editorial asking the world to condemn Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte?
Of course we all know that the basis of the editorial was a complaint filed before the International Criminal Court (ICC) by a fame-hugging Filipino lawyer who represents a perjured witness. It all boils down to NYT’s assertion — based on news reports it mimics– that Duterte is a “killer.”
Well, NYT went a step further.
In a recent headline, the Pulitzer Prize-winning publication accused the entire country of being a killer! Just like its president.
It’s all in the headline…
(Oh, in case you haven’t noticed, the news report was about the Philippine House of Representatives. Yet NYT chose to use an accompanying photo featuring some woman. No, the woman was not a killer).
