MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Less than 24 hours after Vice President Leni Robredo resigned from her Cabinet post as Housing Czar, she was offered a position at the newly-opened  Duterte’s Kitchen.

Duterte’s Kitchen is a feeding program launched by the Duterte-aligned political party PDP-Laban to feed the poor — adults and children alike– as well to teach them how to read.

Currently, the kitchen is feeding between 5o to  70 children daily during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lugaw is usually served for breakfast.

(During the campaign, Robredo said that her campaign funds came from various fundraising events held on her behalf, including lugawan, or stores that sell lugaw or rice porridge).

Noting Robredo’s expertise in cooking lugaw, PDP-Laban said that now that her time has been freed up from Cabinet duties, she can be a big asset to the feeding program.

The vice president has not officially responded to the offer as of press time.
