WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) –  In campaign stops in Kentucky today, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said that in addition to being First Gentleman, her husband Bill will play a major role in her administration.

However, in an exclusive interview with The Adobo Chronicles, ruled out appointing her husband to the position of Secretary of State.

Theoretically, the 42nd president of the United States would be eligible to serve in his wife’s cabinet.  However, Hillary said that appointing him Secretary of State would be too close to the presidency and would be in violation of the Constitution’s 22nd Amendment prohibiting a U.S. president to serve a third term.

The Secretary of State is fourth in line to succeed the president of the United States, behind the Vice President, Speaker of the House and the Senate President.

When asked what position she would give her husband if she is elected president, Hillary said she is leaning towards Chief of Staff and head of White House interns.

Enough said.

Marcos, left, and Robredo

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – After more than a week of canvassing votes in the 2016 Philippine elections, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has finally confirmed the vice presidential winner.  Make that winners.

The vice presidential race between Leni Robredo and Bongbong Marcos has been too close to call, with both candidates claiming victory — amid allegations of election fraud and manipulation of results.

To end the controversy once and for all, the COMELEC today officially proclaimed both Robredo and Marcos as the duly-elected vice presidents.

Robredo will the the vice president for women and Marcos will be the vice president for men. Concurrently, Robredo will be the VP for the Yellowtards (supporters of President Aquino) while Marcos will be the VP for the (Marcos) Loyalists.

Probleml solved!

TIME MAGAZINE’S PERSON OF THE YEAR: DONALD TRUMP OR RODRIGO DUTERTE?

image.jpegNEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – It’s not even half way through the year, but already, Time magazine has narrowed down its choices for the 2016 Person of the Year.

The two finalists are both politicans — one from the East, the other from the West.  One has just been elected president of the Philippines, the other is now the presumptive Republican presidential nominee who could become the next president of the United States.

Both men are similar in many ways, but are also very different.

Rodrigo Duterte is often referred to as the Donald Trump of the East.  But he’d rather that Donald Trump be called the Rodrigo Duterte of the West.

In order to help Time editors to make their final decision, they are asking the help of the readers and followers of The Adobo Chronicles.

Please participate in the poll below on who you think should Time magazine pick as the 2016 Person of the Year.
