ROWAN COUNTY, Kentucky (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – In her first interview since being put behind bars for defying the Supreme Court ruling ordering her to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis answered questions posed by The Adobo Chronicles®. (She made it very clear that she was granting us the interview “under God’s auhority.”)
Without much ado, we’re printing the full Q&A, unedited:
AChron: Do you still believe that marriage is only between a man and a woman?
Davis: Most definitely.
AChron: Do you believe that your God and ours is a loving God?
Davis: For sure.
AChron: Do you believe that God created all men and women to live in this world on equal footing?
Davis: Yes, but only straight men and women.
AChron: Do you believe in God’s commandment to “love thy neighbor as thyself?”
Davis : It’s God’s law, so yes.
AChron: Do you believe in the 7th commandment, “Thou shalt not commit adultery?”
Davis: Again, it’s God’s law, so yes.
Achron: Do you believe in the 10th commandment, “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife (or husband) ?
Davis: This interview is so over. Have a good day!
