Philippine Elections: Grace Poe And Bongbong Marcos Emerge As Leaders In New Poll

imageMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – If Philippine elections were held today, Senators Grace Poe and Bongbong Marcos would be elected president and vice president, respectively.

In a new poll conducted by The Adobo Chronicles, the Poe-Marcos pairing garnered 41.46% of the votes, compared to Rodrigo Duterte and Leni Robredo who got 29.27% to land in second place.

The unique poll paired presidential candidates with vice presidential aspirants of a political party other than their own.  The survey was premised on the fact that in Philippine presidential elections, voters can elect a president and vice president that belong to opposing parties. (Incumbent Vice President Jejomar Binay does not belong to the same party as President NoyNoy Aquino.)

In third place was the Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Gregorio Honasan with 19.51% of the votes.

The rest of the pairings garnered less than 5% each, with Binay and Chiz Escudero gaining 4.88%.  Mar Roxas and Alan Peter Cayetano were in the bottom with 2.44%, along with Antonio Trillanes who was not paired with any presidential candidate.

It’s In The Stars: Hillary Clinton And Bongbong Marcos Will Become Presidents

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – When it comes to celebrity deaths, it is believed that they always come in three’s.  But as far as becoming president, it comes in two’s.

With that said, we are now predicting that Hillary Clinton will become the next president of the United States, and while Bongbong Marcos, the son of the late Philippine President Ferdinand E. Marcos, is a candidate for vice president, he will eventually become president of his country.

It’s in the stars.  We only have to look back at history.

George W. Bush (the 43rd president) is the son of George Bush (the 41st president).

John Quincy Adams (the 6th president) was the son of John Adams (the 2nd president).

Benjamin Harrison (the 23rd president) was the grandson of William Henry Harrison (the 9th president).

James Madison (the 4th president) and Zachary Taylor (the 12th president) were second cousins.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (the 32nd president) was a fifth cousin of Theodore Roosevelt (the 26th president).

Ergo, Hillary, the wife of  Bill Clinton (the 42nd president), will win in this year’s elections and become the 45th president).

In the Philippines, incumbent President NoyNoy Aquino is the son of former President Cory Aquino.

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is the daughter of former President Diosdado Macapagal.

In as far as this year’s Philippine presidential elections are concerned, while Senator Grace Poe has consistently topped national polls, her rival, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, could get elected.  He is the son for former Senator Gerry Roxas who is the only son of Manuel Roxas, the first president of the Third Philippine Republic.

If it’s in the stars, you can bet on it!

The Adobo Chronicles’ Great Presidential-VP Mix-Up Poll: Who Would You Vote For?

imageMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Every Filipino knows that he or she doesn’t have to vote for the vice presidential running mate of presidential candidates.  Philippine presidential elections are like chop suey, you can mix and match.  In fact, incumbent Vice President Jejomar Binay does not belong to the same Liberal Party of President NoyNoy Aquino.

So, in the spirit of chop suey, we are conducting a national poll never conducted before by any polling organization.  We’re calling it the ‘Great Presidential-VPD Mix-Up Poll.’

Here are the rules:  we’ve chosen to mix and match the presidential and vice presidential candidates across party lines; all you have to do is vote for your favorite pairing. No substitutions, please!

Let the games begin!
