HAWAIIAN AIRLINES TO CHANGE ITS NAME

HONOLULU, Hawaii (The Adobo Chronicles) – Hawaiian Airlines, the official airlines of the Aloha State is changing its name effective Januaruy 1, 2016. Going forward, it will be known as “The Plane.”

The change is being made for purposes of easier name recognition and is consistent with the names of the rest of Honolulu’s modes of transportation, such as The Bus and The Cab. Hawaii’s railway system which is now under construction and is expected to be operational in 2016, will take name “The Train.”

The Adobo Chronicles also learned that the hotel chains operating in Hawaii are in a bitter fight to be the one to be called “The Hotel.”

HONOLULU, ( Adobo Chronicles® ) – Let’s face it. You’ve been to Hawaii so many times, and explored the natural beauty of the islands, and to a certain extent, its unique cuisine.

But if you were to choose ten Hawaii foods you need to try before you die, it will be a hell of a dilemma since there’s probably twenty or more on your wish list.

So, we hope our own top ten list would help you narrow down your choices. And what do you know, we’ve left the number 10 spot blank, so you could add your own favorite!

Lau-lau, available at Ono’s on Kapahulu Avenue

Tuna Poke. You can get them anywhere like the Food Pantry on Kuhio Avenue

Macaroni salad. No Hawaiian lunch or barbecue plate can leave home without it!

Oxtail soup. Drive over to Zippy’s!

If you are ever in Maui, it’s a crime not to visit Leoda’s for their chicken pot pie!

Portuguese, Filipino, whatever. But these donut holes are the best!

They’re everywhere! Sushi restaurants or the ABC Stores! You can make them in your hotel room if you have a rice cooker and a microwave. But why bother?

The only McDonald’s in the world that serves this breakfast platter of Portuguese sausage, SPAM, eggs and rice. Coffee extra, of course.

Mango, guava or green tea. Yes, they do belong to pastry rolls, at Liliha!

AMERICAN AIRLINES ACCIDENTALLY SENDS WRONG PLANE TO HAWAII

DALLAS, Texas (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – American Airlines (AA) accidently sent the wrong plane across the ocean from Los Angeles to Hawaii, a company spokesman confirmed to AFP Sunday.

In the August 31 incident first reported by transportation blogger Brian Sumers, the plane made it safely to Honolulu despite the error.

American Airlines spokesman Casey Norton said they were still looking into how the mix-up happened.

It appears that AA flight crew assigned to the flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu boarded the wrong plane. The pilots realized the error two hours into the flight while over the Pacific Ocean but decided to continue on to Hawaii.

They were flying a United Airlines plane!
