MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – There was too much hype about the Philippines’ National ID. It was meant to facilitate public and private transactions that required official verification of one’s legal status.
But the law and its implementation were a total failure, starting with the almost two-year delay in the delivery of the plastic document.
Even President Bongbong Marcos is not impressed. He said the ID is a essentially a picture of an ID with no data that backs it up.
So what gives?
Gather all your identification documents when dealing with government offices or public entities like banks. Have your passport, Tax # ID, GSIS or SSS membership card, PhilHealth and Pag-ibig IDs, PhilPost ID, Barangay ID, Cedula, Senior Citizen/PWD/Student ID and all the nine yards.
It’s the reality. If you’re Filipino or live in the Philippines.
QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City) -Filipino taxpayers have had it for paying for the tuition fees of students of University of the Philippines and other state colleges who cut classes to join protest rallies within and outside their schools.
Beginning this coming school year, those admitted to all government-funded schools will have to sign a waiver agreeing to be automatically expelled and stripped of their scholarships if they use class time for protests or demonstrations.
The Commission on Higher Educations (CHED) told The Adobo Chroniclers that this new policy will ensure that taxpayer money is not wasted on students not serious about pursuing a college education.
The new policy comes just in time for the UPCAT (U.P. College Admission Tests) June 3 & 4.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – If you want an essay or thesis written for you, there’s an app for that. Using AI (Artificial Intelligence) of course! As in ChatGBT.
Now, if you want to order and have some tea, there’s a tea house for that. And yes, using AI!
In an obscure neighborhood in Metro Manila, customers are lining up to have some tea at the ChaiGPT.
The new establishment offers a variety of teas from all over the world. Confused customers will have a difficult time choosing which one to order.
No problem.
Upon entering the tea house, customers just need to look into an installed standing camera by the door and AI reads their minds and preferences. In just seconds, AI determines and decides the kind of tea that best suits the customers’ tastes, mood and personality. No waiting!
