“It’s Showtime!” 12-day Suspension Extended For Another 12 Days!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) has decided to extend the suspension of “It’s Showtime!” for an additional 12 days. The reason? A photo posted by the noon-time show’s cast showing Vice Ganda and others licking ice cream while vacationing in Hong Kong.

“They never learn,” the MTRCB declared, shaking their heads in dismay. This latest suspension comes hot on the heels of the previous one, which was imposed after an episode featured Vice Ganda and Ion Perez indulging in the outrageous act of licking cake icing.

It seems the MTRCB is determined to protect the moral fabric of our society, one tongue-licking incident at a time.

Hello, Confi!

Ah, the magical world of Philippine politics, where math takes a vacation and irony reigns supreme!

Rodrigo Duterte, the master of contradictions, had a curious knack for managing “confidential funds.” Imagine, 4.5 billion pesos annually, a sum that could make even the wealthiest oligarchs blush.

Yet, for a president who often railed against the House of Representatives as the epitome of corruption, his secret stash rivals the GDP of a small country.

But wait, there’s more absurdity to savor! As the nation awaited the roar of critics, President Bongbong Marcos seems to have cast a spell of silence. His loudest critics, some vocal pro-Duterte defenders, have taken an extended vow of muteness about the former president’s blank checkbook.

Could it be that in this theater of the absurd, selective outrage has become a new art form? Or perhaps, as some whisper, those who live in glass houses of controversy should not throw stones?

After all, politics in the Philippines is a never-ending circus, where contradictions, selective amnesia, and silence rule the day. Welcome to the land of perpetual political bewilderment.
