Will Jollibee Chickenjoy Now Also Replace Puto Bumbong?

In the latest twist to religious traditions, the anticipated evening masses have emerged as the rebellious offspring of the once-solemn dawn masses of Simbang Gabi.

Apparently, the spiritual journey to honor the child Jesus has taken a detour into the cozy realm of convenience.

Gone are the days of faithful sacrifices, braving the frigid morning air for nine days straight. Now, devotees can conveniently snooze through the morning chill and casually stroll into a well-lit church at the end of the day.

The irony is as thick as incense smoke: a novena designed for sacrifice has morphed into a nocturnal affair of spiritual procrastination. Perhaps the faithful are now engaged in a novena of negotiating with their alarm clocks.

One can’t help but wonder if the child Jesus, who laid in a manger surrounded by livestock, would have preferred the warmth of a cozy evening celebration over the crisp dawn air. It seems the sacrifices have shifted from waking up early to staying up late, all in the name of spiritual comfort. Praise the Lord and pass the earplugs!

Will Jollibee Chickenjoy now also replace the traditional puto bumbong?

Some Legislators Are Far From Being Honorable

In a groundbreaking move towards honesty in politics, some suggest that addressing legislators as “Honorable” should be entirely optional. After all, it seems a tad hypocritical to bestow such a noble title upon those who often exhibit behavior that is anything but honorable.

Our esteemed Senators and Congressmen, in their illustrious display of virtue, demand our respect even as they engage in verbal jousts that would make a schoolyard bully blush.

Why should we be obliged to cloak them in the veneer of honor when their actions often resemble a circus more than a chamber of dignified discourse?

One might argue that it’s time for a reality check. Perhaps if the title “Honorable” were treated as a merit badge, earned through actual honorable deeds and not just won through a popularity contest, the halls of Congress might echo with the harmonious sounds of respectful dialogue.

Until then, let the optional “Honorable” be a reflection of the actual honor demonstrated, or lack thereof, in the grand spectacle of political theater.

Commission On Filipino Language Appeals To Philippine Bishops: Correct Christmas Misnomers

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – The Commission on Filipino Language is reportedly urging the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines to embark on a linguistic crusade to correct the linguistic sins of Christmas.

According to the commission, common Christmas terms have been used inaccurately for centuries.

The commission asserts that “Pasko,” widely believed to mean Christmas, is a linguistic faux pas as it actually stems from the Spanish “Pascua,” meaning Easter. In a bid for terminological precision, they propose a Yuletide rebranding.

Another linguistic misstep, according to the commission, is the term “Simbanggabi.” Contrary to popular belief, they argue, the Christmas novena should not be associated with the night but with the crack of dawn. Perhaps dawn vigil in Tagalog would be a more fitting description?

And let’s not forget “Noche Buena,” which, according to the commission, should be renamed to reflect its true meaning. Despite its long history, they argue it inaccurately translates to “Good Night” in Spanish.

In the name of linguistic integrity, the commission is demanding a Yuletide vocabulary overhaul, sparking debates on whether the language police have gone too far.
