DUTERTE SAYS HE’LL AUDIT COA IF HE BECOMES VP, LENI SAYS SHE’LL DO IT NOW!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Forget what Leni Robredo had said that the only power of the Vice President is “to wait for something to happen to the President.,”

Robredo has taken on a new mission for the remainder of her 6-year term as VP.

Earlier, Rappler reported that President Rodrigo Duterte said on national TV that he will audit the Commission on Audit (COA) if he becomes VP. (Duterte has “accepted” his nomination as the Vice Presidential candidate of the ruling party, PDP-Laban in next year’s national elections.)

Speaking with The Adobo Chronicles, Robredo said, “Ay, puwede pala iyon.(the VP auditing COA). Gagawin ko na, habang VP pa ako, para naman may legacy akong iiwan sa ating bansa.” (I didn’t know that was possible. I might as well do it now while I’m still VP so that I could leave a legacy to the country.)

We tried to reach COA Chairperson Michael Aguinaldo, but our calls have not been returned as of our deadline.
