IATF: Alcohol In Hotel Quarantine Is In Violation Of Social Distancing!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Could you blame Gwyneth Chua for violating her hotel quarantine to party in Makati City? You can’t. Ordering or drinking beer or alcohol is not allowed by the hotel if you’re under the 5 or 7-day hotel quarantine related to your travel.

Speaking with The Adobo Chronicles, IATF spokesperson Karlo Nograles said that the policy is based on science which proves that ordering and drinking alcohol with yourself in front of the mirror is in violation of social distancing. ”As you know,” Nograles said, ”social distancing is one of the important health protocols needed to curb the spread of Covid-19.”

Now you know why Gwyneth did what she did.

Lawyers’ Group Wants To Declare Comelec A Nuisance Poll Body

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – For its inability to effectively manage the country’s electoral process,, a group of lawyers wants to declare the Philippines’ Commission on Elections (Comelec) a ”nuisance poll body.”

Among the reasons cited by the group for a petition it is filing with the Supreme Court were Comelec’s being wishy-washy in implementing the ban against early campaigning, its continued feet-dragging in the disqualification petitions filed against former Senator Bongbong Marcos, and its inability to pare down Party Lists and to make clear what it considers nuisance candidates.

“That it has failed to weed out obvious nuisance candidates only shows Comelec itself is a nuisance,” the lawyers said.
